A New Heart – Day of Recollection (ANH)

Ezekiel 36:26

“And I will give you a new heart, and place a new spirit within you”

Feeling disconnected from the Lord? Facing a ‘block’ in growing in intimacy with Him and interior freedom? This Easter, allow Jesus to heal you and grant you a new heart, a new spirit, as you grow in wholeness and maturity in Christ.

As leaders, we are so used to tending to those under our care that we seldom look after our own spiritual and emotional well-being. Do we have any inner wounds that may need healing ourselves? A childhood trauma or past hurt that continues to consciously or subconsciously affect our behaviour today?

It is well known that to the extent that we are healed, we will in turn be a healing presence for others – being compassionate, generous and forgiving. Consequently, to the extent that we are still wounded, we may unintentionally wound those around us and the very people entrusted to our care. And this is particularly so for leaders, with our wider sphere of influence.

This Day of Recollection will help us understand what are inner wounds and why it is important to tend to them. It will also help to dispose ourselves to surrender our wounds to be healed by Jesus our Divine Healer, so that we may continue to grow in wholeness and maturity in Christ (Ephesians 4:13).
